You've made perfect use of audio.

Unfortunately, many people who submit movies with good audio have little "movie" to go with it. Usually, it's about 4 seconds of a stick dying with a 4 meg song. This movie, by far, uses high file size sfx to it's best and natural purpose. Keeping things in stereo was a great idea, the sound totally pulled me into the battle. The visuals were awesome, sticks or no sticks. The ambush part with the Germans was one of the coolest scenes ever. The story line rules, and I love the character development (as far as character development goes in war movies; I'm bascially just talking \about the background of their mission, really. So I guess you could call that plot.). Anyways, this movie was so well done, you and all else who worked on this deserves much more than the 5 I can give you. This was very well done, excellent work.

Blackmaze responds:

man thanx for taking time 2 write such a long and specialized review. many people seems 2 agree with u when u say that the audio were good. i think the sound matters quite a bit.

Deep stuff, I like it.

I love seeing deeper stuff on NG, it shows that people really do put in a part of themselves when they make these movies. The visuals were pretty good, the car and moving backgrounds were done nicely. I thought the lighter to the picture was very creative. The audio choice was pretty cool, the mood and flow seemed to move really well with it. I would have suggested a little more experiences with this girl and guy, to have a more impactive ending/beginning. I think the girl he (***spoiler***) hit with the car was his girlfriend, right? It'd have been cool to show how he maybe caught her with another guy and then go back further (to the beginning) and show how it was just her brother visiting or having dinner with her. I dunno, just some ideas. What you have here is plenty, and done very nicely. Great job, I always appreciate good art and creativity in flash movies. Great job.

HeRetiK responds:

true, I could have get a little more into the background story... but almost everyone gets what this movie is all about, so I think it worked out well the way it is.

..........Bwa ha ha ha ha ha.

You know, the portal has been lacking in clever diologue as of late. Well, the plot was pretty basic and predictable, but the way you carried it out was too damn funny. The opening kicked ass, nice visuals of the lake and the two guys. Audio was funny as hell. You've really got the voice reactions and visual reactions dead on, they couldn't get much better than that class A performance. I love how this guys perception of the lake is just totally ruined. Great job, the style in this movie is awesome. Great job.

Boneland responds:

Thanks for the detailed comments, man!

I'd also just like to say that i've been reading these reviews and i'm really happy to read that most of you seem to have really enjoyed the show. Thanks to all for saying so! (t)

Was it really neccessary to not compress the audio

Well...that was kind of pointless. The concept was somewhat amusing, but is kind of paled because of the file size, which the audio is most accountable for. I'm glad it was at least clipped, but it could have been compressed a bit more. Besided that, it was just kind of bland and didn't really go anywhere. I liked the picture of clock kong, though.

HersheyClockolet responds:

Clock_Kong is love! I will compress my chocolate from now on, for you!

Amazing work.

Wow, so THAT's how DBZ would look in flash. Your visuals were awesome. One might even suspect you of tracing, ha ha. But no, tracing or not, your visuals were awesome, right down to the very element that visually makes DBZ what it is. Audio choice was perfect, especially getting that Japenese version in too; that should keep the hardcore fans happy. I gave you a high score on style for replicating this so well. It's not everyday someone recreates something like this almost down to the very detail. I've seen tons and tons of DBZ but to this day, this episode remains at the top of my all time favorites, so I really apprecate the work you put into this. Great job.

Barry-the-SuperScot responds:

THanks! I'm glad you like this so much! ^_^

Horrible delivery.

It's stuff like this that really irks me. I don't mind things like this getting SUBMITTED, but come on, people voting 10 on this is total crap. This has absolutely no humor in this whatseover and there's only one background and some stupid chick. It almost feels like you delibrately put this on NG to see how high of a score you could get by submitting something completely worthless, but have some mild-nudity in it.

iqueloque responds:

i feel your pain, but you must understand that whats not funny for you, may be funny to others. I know that this movie doesn't deserv a 10, but it also doesn't deserv a 1. The audio was made by my friend, she work really hard for it.

Like that wasn't ovious.

Right, a flash movie is going to tell me I need to download a flash 7 player, lol. What a load of crap. You can use your weird Monk-ish crap diolouge to refute, but whatever. Triky clown is dead, so it only gives me greater pleasure to push his rotting corpse deeper into the ground.

ArchonClock responds:

My "weird Monk-ish crap diolouge"? Assuming you mean 'dialogue', I have no idea what you are talking about.
Obviously, there must be some sort of database error. I swear to you, this movie does NOT, I repeat, NOT feature anyone named "Triky clown".
Mayhaps the database is still screwed up because of that movie "Xavier and Friends".

Aww, you had a good thing going here.

That started out good enough. The audio was so-so, but I really like how you started off your visuals. They started to kind of lose touch around the part where he was holding the picture up. Try making your audio a bit more clear next time, it was a bit hard to hear at some parts. The ending was kind of eerie, though biologically and physically speaking, I can't say I've ever heard of a guy living to finish off popping himself 4-5 times in the head, once in the chest. Oh well, the point was clear. I think you had a good thing going here, but kind of lost touch in the end. You've got potential, keep it up.

Mek1985 responds:

yeah the ending was like rushed for some reason...i dunno..i was bored of it and wanted to finish.

Hey, not bad.

This wasn't too bad at all. I can tell that the majority of the file size of this sucker came from the audio; a little compression in that department couldn't have hurt. The story line was a bit on the "blah" side in that there wasn't much development in the characters or theme. I did like the action though. Well, no, I should say I REALLY liked the action, it was pretty fast paced and had some good SFX in there, kudos to you for the good SFX. I'd reccomend using the Text tool nextime, though. It was kind of hard to read with the big, bold, crayon-like writing that was character speech. Nice choice of endings too by the way, 1 is my fav; it's like overkill, ha ha. Good job, I know what a pain it can be to animate sprites frame by frame and I think it paid off in this flash's pace of action. Good job, keep up the good work.

StormEagle1984 responds:

I fixed a bunch of stuff.

Whaaaat?? This is just like propaganda.

I'm sorry, but what the heck is this? In all fairness, there was just about no animation in this thing at all. The visuals seemed kind of slapped together as well. I know and understand that you stated that you must have an open mind to watch this movie, and I do. The problem is that 3/4 of this movie is Nazi propaganda, which still works today on weak-minded people like spikey_dogg. I don't have a problem with the movie, it's just that there is too much audio from hitler glorifying nazism. I really do think the plot is interesting, but the lack of animation and over-abundance of hitlers bad propaganda filling the movie just didn't do it for me. Oh, and by the way, I'm not sure if it was an accident or not, but the swastika you used was turned the wrong way (all ends pointing to the left). I'm not sure if that's a Neo-nazi swastika you were going for, but the swastika in that direction is debatably an ancient sign of peace. Oh well, keep on practicing at flash. Don't let overly negative reviews get you down if you've gotten them. Just work on your animation and get some more activity and plot in there. Nice music choice by the way, Rammstein kicks ass.

theplypusher responds:

Your review is fair, but as I said, I'm not a nazi. That is why I didn't know the details of the design of the swastika. And everyone, please bear in mind: this is just the first episode. If a rape scene or something initiated a movie about a cop that arrested rapists, would you call the director a rapist? And yes this is Nazi propaganda, because I was trying to make it historically accurate. Chill out with the harsh criticism untill you see what's next. If you don't like that, blam the fuck out of it.
